Mr. Roberts earned bachelor’s degrees in both Music Education and Music Composition from
Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, and has earned Master's degrees in both Music
Composition and Instrumental Conducting, also from Southern Methodist University in Dallas,
TX. His primary instruments are the main members of the saxophone family (soprano, alto, tenor
and baritone) with doubles that include Bb clarinet, bass clarinet and flute.

His accomplishments include being selected as a winner of the 2021 SCI (Society of Composers
Inc.) Composition Contest, as well as an Irving Symphony Orchestra Student Composer in
Residence for the Fall of 2021. Also, as a result of the 2021 Clarinet Call For Scores UWSP
(University of Wisconsin - Steven's Point), his latest unaccompanied work for Bb clarinet titled

"Pinocchio" will premiere in Ireland in the near future.
